Description
Lovely white Audi A5 Sportback 1.8 TFSI. Needs some work but priced appropriately.
Engine warning light is on and a recent inspection (by a technician who came with a dealer to view the car) surmised that the issues probably originate from it requiring a new timing chain. He said this could cost in the region of a grand to rectify.
It has been sat for a few months but has been moved slightly so the wheels / breaks haven't seized as far as I can tell.
Eventually struggled to start it, so I've replaced the battery. Now it starts fine but it eventually cuts out probably due to the issue explained above.
Out of MOT but the tyres shouldn't even get an advisory. Measured tyre tread depth myself and all measurements between 4 - 6mm.
Interior and exterior are largely age appropriate. All leather is in excellent condition.
You'll notice some brown / black staining on the alloys. If you look closely you'll see that I've wiped some of it off already. Just needs a bit of time and elbow grease. I just don't have the time to do it.
I think this is probably a fair price. When I checked (06/09/25) Autotrader estimated that the car could be sold privately for 3,095 - 3,370 (see here: (s%2Fs)%20(170%20ps)&vehicleType=Car).
So if it DOES cost a grand to fix the engine light issues and 40 quid for an MOT, that'd be a 2540 outlay, and you'd still be 550 - 800 up.
Feel welcome to come and have a look at it, plug diagnostics in, whatever...
