Description
Photos will follow shortly.
I have owned this 55 plate Vantage for 13 years. It is a lovely example of the increasingly rare early 4.3, being build number 209. It is finished in the classic tungsten silver, has contrasting light and dark grey leather upholstery, Alcantara headlining, etc, and boasts the usual high Vantage specification. I also have the original 3 keys and two fobs.
The engine had a full 'zero miles' rebuild at 41,300 miles in 2018 (the car now has just under 44,000 miles on the clock), which was meticulously done by a highly reputable AM competition engine builder (whose work with AM included building N24/GT4 Aston racing engines) recommended by my local AM dealership (photos of the re-build and correspondence are available for the serious potential buyer) and included dynamic balancing of the crank, rods, pistons, flywheel and pulley. Other refinements included light port work on the cylinder head and the timing subtly adjusted. All of this resulted in an estimated 5% power output increase as well as a noticeably smoother, more drivable and more throttle-responsive drive, producing a lovely but subtle 'pop' on the overrun. The engine was properly and carefully run-in following the engine builder's written instructions, doing 500 miles on the oil provided by him before being replaced (along with a change of oil filter) by Mobil 1 "motorsport" oil 10W60 fully synthetic. I have only ever run the car on premium fuel, usually Shell V power. An interesting point is the that the first 1000 V8 Vantages used forged steel con rods, making these early examples more desirable; The forged steel rods being replaced by the less expensive to produce sintered steel rods.
A new clutch was fitted at about 42,900 miles and a new set of original specification Bridgestone tyres were sourced and fitted at 41,800 miles (these are no longer available). The wheels have just been fully refurbished and new wheel centre caps fitted. Other recent maintenance/works include an oil change (Mobil 1) with the last service some 300miles ago, new door and boot struts, alarm service and (new) sounder, emissions service, brake fluid change. The MOT runs until 4/9/26.
Garaged whilst in my care and not used in the wet since the rebuild, this is, quite simply, a lovely Vantage that is a joy to drive and ready to provide many, many thousands more joyful driving miles to a new owner.
