Description
6-speed manual, 124,043k miles, MoT 29/11/25, previously owned by a mechanic who did whatever the car needed. He assured me that the cambelt and water pump were done at 110k miles. Sadly though, I have no receipts or service book.
GOOD:
The car drives very well indeed with no known faults and pulls strongly in all gears. Excellent fuel economy. New Bridgestone all-season tyres on the front less than 1k miles ago. O/s/f coil spring replaced about 250 miles ago. New battery last Dec.
BAD:
N/s/f coil spring needs replacing. I have the new spring but just haven't got round to doing it. The car is perfectly safe to drive in the meantime. Both front wings have rust bubbling up. Driver's door has a poorly repaired dent/scratch. Lacquer peel on rear bumper. Air con not blowing cold; I assume it needs a re-gas. Occasionally the info screen displays "boot lid open" when it isn't. This is a common fault apparently, so I've just lived with it. Both rear tyres need repairing/replacing as they have slow punctures.
In summary, a great driving but slightly scruffy Volvo S40. I'm only selling the car due to needing an automatic because of an ankle problem, otherwise I'd definitely be keeping it.
The personalised registration number does not come with the car and will be removed before sale. The original reg, which should go back on the car, is SK59 YDF
