Description
The mild-hybrid system pairs a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a small electric motor integrated into a new six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox (e-DSC6).
Performance: The engine produces 136 horsepower (134 bhp) and 231 Nm of torque, allowing for a 0–62 mph time of around 11.3 seconds and a top speed of 124 mph.
Electric Assist: The mild-hybrid system is capable of driving on electric power alone for brief periods at low speeds (under 18 mph), such as in stop-and-go traffic. This also enables engine-off coasting, where the electric motor acts as a generator to recharge the small 48V battery under the front passenger seat.
Fuel efficiency: This technology significantly boosts fuel economy compared to a standard petrol engine. Official WLTP figures are between 44.6 and 52.5 mpg, and real-world averages often hover near the 48 mpg mark.
Refinement: The drivetrain offers smooth power delivery. While the engine can be a little vocal when pushed hard, overall refinement is very good, with minimal wind or road noise at motorway speeds.
