A unique opportunity to own a land Rover Defender 110 Special. This vehicle has a remapped ignition system to enhance performance and will outperform any other 110 TD5 you have driven in the past. The transfer box was renewed in 2021 with a 1.2 ratio box for better long distance travelling and mpg. The clutch was renewed at the same time. The chassis has been replaced with a Maer galvanised chassis so there will be no worries about the 110 failing an MOT because of rust. The manifold has been completely overhauled and renewed. There are two new seats in the front and Exmoor Trim fit out in the cab. As with most TD5s the engine is ultra reliable and starts every time at the turn of the key. Because it is a Special there is a LR factory fitted sunroof, and there are LED lights all round . There are also heated seats in the front. The heater matrix has been replaced with a stainless steel upgrade and blows out plenty of heat, unlike many other TD5s. Four new tyres all round. Most TD5s with a 1.2 box should give you about 32mpg. Because this one has a remapped ignition it doesn't give you that but it is not significant. I get a consistent 29mpg. A trade off against performance which is well worth it. Tidying up bodywork is the next project. But after that, it is basically done and should gives years of hassle free enjoyment. This is a reluctant sale because the 110 is not suitable for transporting young grandchildren.
