Description

Audi RS4 B7 Avant V8 Low Miles Black Pack & Recaro buckets So this is the car that I should've bought in 2007 but went down the route of modern M3, M2 and Porsche 911. Three years ago I went out to scratch the itch by buying the best car I could find in the market at the time which had less than 50,000 miles the essential deep bucket Recaro seats and in the desirable estate version in Daytona grey. This one happened to have the rare black pack (radiator grill and roof rails) The car had full Audi service history from the first two owners, had just had the major service - car was still standard, not chipped, and delivering all of its horses as had just been treated to a carbon clean - sport button connected to the exhaust flaps and seat bolsters was fully working - DRC suspension was not leaking and so delivering its plush ride, ideal for Uk roads - brakes were fresh. In my ownership, had its routine Audi oil service, four new Continental tyres and full wheel refurbishment. I was forced to change from standard DRC suspension. While in for its last service Audi spotted a broken rear spring but no longer stocked the item. I then discovered a leaking damper. also NLA. So how to keep that lovely ride/handling set up these cars are renowned for? Fortunately the RS246 forum helped me choose a fantastic Koni damper kit with H&R springs that work beautifully. The stance is in my eyes slightly improved and I would argue turn-in is slightly superior to stock which can take a moment to settle. Two other slight modifications to note that enhance the sound and experience of the car (both reversible with the OE parts to come with the car) are : - Apple Carplay ICE and sat nav function; and - Exhaust cross pipe (pre-Cats/ doesn't affect MoT emissions) As has been written about much lately this is a lovely car to drive in the real world, every trip is an event thanks to that high revving V8 engine, delicious short-shift manual gearbox and of course Quattro four wheel traction that is biased to the rear under load. All of this packed into a handsome, stealthy and practical body shape with brilliant seats, ergonomics and build quality - who wants an M3 Touring for 100k? Now with the carbon clean and suspension fully refreshed, this would make for a predictable ownership proposition. Why selling? I've owned it three years and do like to rotate through a relatively long list of dream cars, and there are a few more to go before I hang up my driving gloves.
