The Good Bits
Before the faults, it's worth noting that this was a great family car and has a high specification.
Tech Line Model: Comes with Sat Nav, DAB radio, Bluetooth, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, and dual-zone climate control.
The automatic gearbox is running smoothly with no issues.
Aside from the minor points below, the paintwork is in good condition for the age and mileage.
All electrics (windows, mirrors, etc.) work as they should.
Alloy wheels with decent tyres.
The Bad Bits - The Reason for Sale (IMPORTANT)
The car has developed a major engine fault. I took it to my local garage and their findings are as follows:
The coolant system was pressure tested and was found to be losing pressure with no visible external leaks.
The engine is extremely difficult to start. The garage suspects coolant is leaking into the engine cylinders (bores), causing it to hydraulic.
A "Service Vehicle Soon" message is displayed on the dashboard, which has been diagnosed as a fault with the AdBlue system.
Due to the potential cost of repair, I have made the difficult decision to sell the car as it is. It will not start reliably and is a non-runner.
As expected for a car of this mileage, there are a few minor age related marks:
There is a minor dent above the driver side wheel arch.
There is a scratch on the driver's side door.
I have taken close up pictures of both of these areas to show them clearly.
This is an ideal purchase for a mechanic, a garage, a breaker, or a skilled enthusiast who has the time and ability to either repair the engine or strip the car for its valuable parts (gearbox, interior, panels, etc.).
