Description

PRICE REDUCED - 2K less than autrotrader recommended The CLASSIC 987 Gen 2 (2.9l) | Great Condition | Great fun to Drive I'm selling my Porsche Cayman 987 (Gen 2) - now considered a modern classic due to its balance of performance, usability, and styling, as well as its reputation as being a pure, analog driving experience before the widespread adoption of electric driver aids. Regretfully selling as we moved house recently and no longer have a garage in which to store her (the car has been garaged throughout my ownership ). Car cover included in the sale. I fell in love with this super rare colour variant: Platinum Silver Metallic - looks 'bronzed-silver' in certain light as you can see in some of the photos Highlights: - Manual 6 speed gearbox - Low (but not too low as has been driven) mileage of 47K - Uncluttered driver's steering wheel - Orignal spec alloys - Dual Exhaust Tailpipe - Part Electric Heated Seats - Rear Parking Sensors - Bluetooth connection for phone - 2 Porsche keys - Rear spoiler can be manually operated (see pic) - Car cover included - Full Porsche and Porsche Specialist Service History - over 1K spent in 05/2024 (see pic) on 12 year Major service (new spark plugs/ new drive belt/ replaced air filter/ 12 year gearbox oil change) - Next (minor 2 year) service due: May 2026 - MOT until Feb 2026 Frustratingly there are some recent scratches to the passenger side sill, below the door (last pic) - I have priced the car accordingly reducing autotrader's recommended price by 2K Call or message for details and I'll get back to you asap. Available for viewings throughout the day. Unlike earlier models, the 987 Gen 2 Cayman (2.9L) avoids two notorious Porsche issues: 1. No IMS failure (pre-2009 problem for 2.7 & 3.2 fixed in this updated model) 2. No bore scoring risk, cylinder scoring (only affects the 3.2 & 3.4 S models)
