Description
Exceptionally good 1963 Land Rover Series 2 which has covered just 10, 000 miles since having a substantial restoration. The car still presents extremely well with faultless mechanics and a nice amount of patina.
Work carried out during the restoration included:
Full galvanised chassis
New bulkhead
Rebuilt diesel engine
Rebuilt Series 2a full synchromesh gearbox
Front disk brake conversion
Upgraded parabolic springs
Exmoor seats and cubby box
Exmoor acoustic rubber matting
Exmoor hood set
Rocky Mountain aluminium door tops
Superwinch freewheeling hubs
Refurbished Lucas windscreen wiper motors
Refurbished Clayton heater and windscreen demisters
4 Kenwood speakers
Towbar with electric hook up
Stainless exhaust
Galvanised capping
New wheels
Additionally during my ownership I have fitted:
New P700 headlights and surrounds
New Lucas Ranger lamps
New Exmoor canvas roof
New Exmoor seatbelt frame
New battery
New shock absorbers all round
The car also comes with a full hardtop roof including a rare cat flap rear hatch as well as some other accessories.
Everything on this car works as it should including the low range and freewheeling hubs.
The upgraded engine, brakes, gearbox and parabolic springs make this car much nicer to use in modern traffic than any standard Series Land Rover. The bulkhead is still in top condition with no holes and the galvanised chassis gives peace of mind that this car wont develop the inevitable chassis rot old Land Rovers suffer with.
