Supplied new by Barons, Farnborough in December 2001, the car was first serviced by the supplying dealer and Barons Hindhead until a change to Snows in 2013 through to 2019, with a recent service at BMW Group 1 in Brighton - this is supported by the original service book which has 12 stamps, exclusively from BMW main dealers. There is also a large pack of invoices, some supporting the stamped book, others for works carried out by independent specialists. This includes new timing chains, refurbished VANOS units, new MAFs, spark plugs, various suspension works and very importantly restorative work to the sills by a proper BMW/Porsche body specialist, costing over 2600 (and they weren't bad at all!). In the last 3000 miles, over 11,000 has been spent on the car surely making it one of the best maintained examples available. We are in possession of the full book pack along with several old MOT certificates. It is exceptionally rare for a 2 owner car with an exclusively BMW main dealer stamped book to come to market, let alone one with heritage leather and so much expenditure in the right places. E39 M5s do vary considerably in price but the best maintained ones are starting to pull away from the 'cheap' cars, as to get those to standard properly means you would be considerably out of pocket compared to buying the right car in the first place.
