Description

Selling my FN2 TypeR as it's just not being used as much as it should be (only 2000 miles in 5 years) , so it's time someone else got to enjoy it. I've owned it for about 5 years and it's been used just as a fun toy for the occasional dry-weather drive and always warmed up before being driven properly. It has a full MOT with no advisories , I fitted matching Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres all round when I bought it and they stil have good tread depth, it has a stainless cat-back exhaust for a nicer noise , a brand new Yuasa YBX5053 battery with a 5-year guarantee (with a removable isolator) , front-right foglight replaced with good used one as the chrome inside had been lost , I have cleaned the daft little slots around the rear lights and clear plastic to remove the green moss build-up (happens on all FN2s it seems due to silly design) and painted the slots black + silicone filled so I hope it can't happen again, and 3d-printed reinforcement brackets for the outer-rear lights as the plastic around the bolts had cracked. Also I replaced the old leaking rear light gaskets with new ones cut from waterproof neoprene. Last oil change and filter was last summer (so about 400 miles ago), and I have a boxed full set of anti-rust coated discs and pads and I think I have the Haynes manual too. Although not shown in the photos (as I was mid-cleaning) I have the full genuine floor mat set and the raised boot floor (although this is bent and the plastic is cracked underneath). For full clarity I will list the issues I am aware of as the car is not 100% perfect - air con does not work , rear interior "door" & boot plastics quite scratched and a small piece missing due to previous owner apparently being a builder, 2 proper Honda remote keys but only one works the mechanical door locks and the other one works the ignition (no idea why but my guess would be a replaced door lock at some point) but the remote lock/unlock works fine on both keys. I think the 3rd gear synchros are a bit worn as seems unavoidable with FN2s so it requires a firm gearchange at high revs / redline in that gear to avoid it balking, and be aware that the s/steel exhaust is louder and vibrates when started from cold, but it quietens down quickly and it sounds fantastic when driven hard with the occasional burble on the overrun (but no silly loud bangs and pops) so it's possibly not ideal as a daily driver if you leave at 5am.
