Description
Great Noise, Modern Classic.
Here for sale is my 2003 BMW E85 Z4 3.0i finished in sterling silver and with a sensible 92k miles on the clock, selling due to a want for something a tad more spacious and comfortable for my commute to work. The car comes with comprehensive service history, heated, electric memory seats, auto xenon lights, rear parking sensors and a sport button. MOT until February 2026.
Work during my ownership includes:
-New Brembo Prime discs and Brembo pads all round with new brake fluid
-New headlight level sensor and headlight cleaning motor
-Wing mirror adjustment mechanism fixed
-Service with new pollen filter and spark plugs
-1 New coil pack
-New jacking point
-Idle control valve and DISA valve cleaned
The exterior is in good condition for it's age, with only a few scratches on the left side, stone chips on the bonnet and a mark on the left wing mirror, as is expected from a 22 year-old car. The roof is also in good condition, with minimal marks owing to the fact it has been covered for most of its life (including my ownership), going up and down without issue. The ellipsoid wheels look great, with some curbing on the front and rear left. The car is ageing very gracefully and still gets looks and compliments today.
Mechanically the car is strong, featuring BMW's revered M54 straight-six engine in three litre guise. The engine pulls strongly and revs freely to the redline, making a sonorous 6 cylinder howl in the process. The popular 'sound mod' done to this car makes an addictive intake noise, paired with a 6-speed manual that feels solid and satisfying. The car will average 33/34 mpg on my commute to work (mixture of A roads, traffic jams and motorway) and can get up to 40mpg on a run.
The interior presents well, with just a few scratches and rattles here and there. Everything works, with the air conditioning blowing icy-cold and the heated seats working . There is some wear on the top of the steering wheel and the right bolster of the drivers seat, but overall this is a cozy yet aesthetic interior with no screens or touch pads to get in the way of driving.
Being an older car there are a few small issues: Occasionally the engine can be a bit rough on cold start, there is a light knock sometimes when pressing and letting off of the accelerator pedal (possibly a bushing) and it needs a parking sensor.
4795 ONO, mileage will steadily climb as it is used for my commute 2-3 times a week (48 miles away), based in Wiltshire.
