Description

Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk5 DSG - 1 previous owner, extensive FSH, very high spec. For sale is my exceptional 2008 (08 plate) Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk5 3-door in the stunning United Grey (also known as Steel Grey). We are the second owner, having purchased the car from its original keeper who owned it for the first 14 years of its life. This is a very high-spec example. In addition to the standard GTI spec that included leather interior with heated front seats and electric lumbar adjustment for 2008 cars, the first owner ticked EVERY available option from the factory, these are: 18-inch Monza II diamond-cut alloy wheels (recently refurbished with the later black Golf mk6 base colour and genuine VW centre caps) Sunroof (electric) Multifunction steering wheel and Hi-line computer Front centre arm rest and rear air vents Luxury pack (electric folding mirrors with reverse activated curb view and puddle lights, rear reading lights) Xenon headlights RNS 510 touch screen satellite navigation unit, updated to latest firmware and maps Rear parking sensors Cruise control Winter pack (heated washer jets and low fluid warning system) The car is standard and unmodified. It comes with a full service history, with every service carried out annually (VW main dealer for the first 9 and VW specialist thereafter) and all receipts available to prove. Most recent cambelt/waterpump and DSG service in 2022 @106k miles. During our ownership, we have undertaken an extensive mechanical refurbishment to ensure the car drives as well as it looks. This includes a full overhaul of the brakes (new discs, pads, calipers, and hoses) and suspension (new dampers, shocks, top mounts, lower arms, ball joints, drop links, hardware, 4 wheel alignment). In all cases using genuine VW or OEM parts (e.g. ATE, Sachs, Lemforder, TRW) and documented with many ,000s worth of receipts. The bodywork is all original paint (super rare for a car of this age) and is in fantastic condition, as is the interior, which has no notable wear or signs of aging on the leather. In line with the car's extensive maintenance history and careful ownership, it drives superbly; the DSG gearbox is super smooth. The car is on a 'Golf 5 VW' private plate that I am happy to stay with it. The only place to fault the car is a sagging headlining in places, a very common and resolvable Golf mk5 issue. This GTI is a rare find in this condition and with this level of specification.
