Mini was bought to get my partner through her driving test, which she passed first time! It gave her confidence, with it's reliability, agility and ease of use. Lovely colour, metallic blue, and nice fittings. When we were looking for a Mini last year, we were advised to get, ideally , petrol, automatic, with full service history and cam chain having been recently replaced. "Jay", the Mini's name, met all these criteria. Apart from 3 of the tyres having slow punctures, (obviously repaired) the car has never missed a beat. My partner has now got a Saab cabriolet for the summer. When I was checking the Mini for it's MoT, I was pleasantly surprised with the lack of corrosion, any where. It spent the vast majority of it's life near London, with obviously much less road salt than here, south of Glasgow. For a 13 year old car, it is in good condition, although it does have some small life scars, as per photos.
