I have owned this car for nearly 10 years and throughout that time it has been a pleasure to drive. If you are looking for a luxury car that is incredibly comfortable to cruise about in then this should be on your shortlist. My original plan was just to hold onto this car for the long term, however, I don't have space to store this car and have ordered a new vehicle. The car has been serviced regularly by Thornliebank Motor Engineers and I can provide all the receipts for maintenance and works carried out. Throughout my ownership I have never had any significant issues just regular maintance. This particular car has the 16 way adjustable luxury seats which are far superior than the standard seats which almost all other Phaetons have fitted. The seats are heated and cooled as well as being able to deliver a full massage. Every aspect of the adjustment in this car is electrically adjustable, in addition to usual seat functions, the headrest, seatbelt height, steering column and even the rear view mirror are all powered and adjust based on your memory settings. The car is also double glazed for quietness on motorways. It pulls very strongly for a big car and has permanent 4 wheel drive. The air conditioning also works perfectly. The car does have a few issues. There is some minor bubbling of the paint which is common for aluminium cars of this age. There are no issues around any of the wheel arches. The hydraulic boot also works perfectly. The tracking is slightly out and the front brake discs have a minor warp but it is barely noticeable. The car is showing as having a fault with the ride height and indeed you cannot currently raise or lower the body height, it is fixed at the standard height. My garage said that it would need to be reprogrammed by VW to regain that function after I recently replaced the front ride height sensors, but I don't typically raise the vehicle so it was not an issue to me. There is also a recurring check light for the brake bads but the pads are fine, it has had that fault since I owned the car. I have been able to source parts quite easily and cheaply either from ebay or from eastern european motor factors and it really has been a pleasant ownership experience for me. The private plate will be included in the sale as it had that when I purchased it. There is only 1 key, I have never had a spare but it never caused me a problem.
