Description
1966 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia - RHD - 4-Speed - White - Reg: MCH 661D (PX FOR PORCHE 996)
A tidy, Ghia in classic white with black/ivory trim. Right-hand drive, 4-speed manual. Cal-look details with de-bumped body, Fuchs-style wheels and twin-exit exhaust. Originally a coupe, it has had the roof cut off ready for a soft-top to be installed (no hood/frame currently fitted).
My ownership/story
I've owned it about a year. I bought it from a long-term owner who kept it in excellent order and clearly loved the car. I've enjoyed sunny-day drives; now moving it on to someone who'll finish the soft-top and keep using it.
Highlights
1966 Karmann Ghia, RHD, manual 4-speed
White paint, straight panels; shaved bumpers front & rear
Black/ivory interior in presentable, usable condition
Tidy engine bay; period single-carb setup (see photos)
Fuchs-style alloys, good stance; twin tailpipes
Historic-vehicle eligible (VED 0; buyer to check MOT status for their use)
Condition (honest notes)
Paint shines with age-related marks here and there; see close-ups.
Interior shows light wear consistent with age; carpets clean.
Roof: currently an open roadster - no soft-top or frame included.
Starts, runs and drives nicely for viewings; buyers welcome to inspect.
Numbers & paperwork
Registration MCH 661D; V5C in my name.
Mileage shown c. 94k (unverified/odometer reading).
Engine size 1600cc
What I'd want to know if I were buying
Heater channels, sills, battery tray and pans appear solid in use; I encourage any inspection. It looks to have an alternator so likely 12V (please verify). Body was a coupe before the conversion; check with DVLA/your insurer how you prefer to register/insure it. Many classics are MOT-exempt due to age, but some owners still MOT them for peace of mind.
