Description

This is not just any old SL350..... 2 owners, a father and daughter, before me and an amazing service history with every document you could ever hope for! It is a thing of beauty, its sleek and stylish with effortless performance. It belies its age in every single way, the condition it is in, how it looks, its equipment and last but not least the way it drives. It can purr along a motorway for hours or you can switch to sport mode and have a little fun. It is said the SL range has always been an absolute favourite amongst Mercedes engineers and you can tell. This SL has a 3.7L V6 engine with 245bhp with a 5 speed auto gearbox, rear wheel drive. The spec is great, as you would expect from an SL, and includes beautiful leather seats, dual-zone climate control, electric heated and cooled seats with memory function, electric adjustable steering column, cruise control, folding wing mirrors, 'parktronic' parking sensors front and rear, alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights. To the dismay of a few purists, I have replaced the original Command 'entertainment' system, including the CD interchanger, with something much more up to date, this being a Kenwood DMX system. This gives you Apple/Android car play meaning all calls, navigation, music etc are handled by a really good up to date system with touch screen. You can easily add things like a reversing camera to the system if desired. On the 'down' side: there is a small hole in the leather of the driver's seat (see photo). This has NOT got any bigger in the time I have had the car. Annoyingly after having the car valeted recently, it came back with the button for adjusting the wing mirrors not working. Finally, in the recent MOT, there is an 'advisory' re the suspension arm pins being worn, albeit this is not resulting in excessive movement. Quoted 500 to do the job when required, this timescale being dependent upon the future mileage of the car. On the upside, it's a truly great car to own! I paid 9k 2 years ago from a garage and honestly think 5k is not enough, but have to be pragmatic! I think it will start to appreciate over the next few years if looked after. I am selling due to lack of space. What used to be a garage is now a spare room and I have nowhere to keep the car other than on the drive. I keep it covered but its not ideal. Genuine questions answered, time wasters will be given short shrift!
