Description
Top of the range X5 4.8is facelift model - currently has a Transmission Sensor fault (EGS: one-touch gearshift or M gate switch; Transmission switch L1-L4). It will start and drive really well, as if nothing is wrong, then when warmed-up (@ 3 to 4 miles of driving) it doesn't know what gear it is in and goes in to limp-mode. Once cooled down, it will then go again. Hence, buyer will need to transport it.
Owned for 9 years with full-service history with loads of paperwork to support this. Most recent works: At 160K miles new battery; At 157K miles New Water pump; thermostat, sensors & hoses. At 155K miles Transfer Box sump oil changed. The car runs equally well on lpg & petrol (can't tell the difference at all when driving). At 154K miles LPG system (top spec BRC) was fully serviced. At 153K miles full rebuild of ABS system. At 145K miles new brake discs and pads all round. Car VED is at the older lower rate (currently 430).
Excellent electric Nappa Heated Seats and rare heated Steering Wheel all fully working. 2 keys. All tyres between 5mm to 6mm. No spare wheel (space used by lpg tank)
It does have some issues: The wheels were refurbished in 2017 and probably due again; The door handles (a known issue with these) are stiff and need a yank (will need adjusting, but not broken); the parking sensors are not working (which has never really bothered me).
