Description
This metallic black 2002 XKR is the 2003 model with the resulting 4.2 litre supercharged engine and a superb six speed automatic gearbox. The car has done under 72,000 miles, covering about 5,000 of these in my ownership since 2021. It has been maintained fastidiously by famous specialists Prestige Jaguar in Paisley and has a full MoT (with no advisories) until 2 Oct 2026. I have a file of work done in my ownership over the last four years, but no earlier documentation.
As with all XKRs, the car has cruise control and an electric hood. The seat leather is white and unblemished. The wood veneer on the dash is unmarked and unclouded.
The XKR has been kept garaged in Edinburgh and only used on dry days. Consequently this car is in very good condition, with a sound engine and no evidence of body rust.
At some point before my ownership the car was designated Cat C and this is reflected in the price. Subsequent repairs were clearly done to a very high standard, although no paperwork is available. The car was resprayed in its original metallic black. Apart from a few small stone chips on the bonnet, a tiny bubble on one wing and a small blemish on the rear bumper, the bodywork is gleaming as can be seen in the photographs. As can also be seen, the suspension has been slightly lowered. This has enhanced both the handling and (in my opinion) the appearance.
The 20 inch BBS Detroit wheels are original and in good condition. There is slight lacquer bubbling and a tiny kerb scuff to the stainless steel rim on one wheel.
The tonneau was replaced with a custom made one three years ago. The hood works well and is in good condition. A custom cover comes with the car.
The car has an Adamesh Stage 1 exhaust (the original is included in the sale) with a gentle rumble that is only slightly louder than the standard exhaust but offers a full-throated roar when asked.
The battery has been maintained with a trickle charge, and the charger comes with the car.
The car can be viewed in Edinburgh and any inspection is welcome.
This Jaguar has been a pleasure to own. It is surprisingly cheap to keep, with classic insurance, road tax of just 430, and 33 mpg on a long run. I am only selling due to a planned house move.
