Description

Jaguar XK8 registration number: KJ 04 XFT (2004), 4 previous owners. MOTed until March 2026, some minor MOT advisories for the first time ever. Regarding the advisories, there is a bit of a story. The garage I had always previously used, the owner decided to semi-retire and give up the mechanic-ing and MOTs, and just do the fuel sales. So he engaged a self-employed mechanic, who rapidly earnt a reputation as being pedantic in the extreme! Regarding the damaged seat belt he highlighted, it is a small chip in the clip shroud, see picture within this advert. It has absolutely no impact on the safety or function of the seat belt so should not really have been mentioned. All MOT advisories have been addressed at a reputable garage, receipt available for viewing. I have had the car for 5 years, I only have very limited original history, but have lots of history since my ownership. I have receipts for repairs and refurbishment projects including a new roof lining, steering rack, XK bonnet. I have fitted stainless steel wheel trims and a stainless-steel performance exhaust system, the original also system comes with the car. Starts first turn every time, good tyres, looks and drives great, a modern-day classic. Reluctant sale, but I have semi-retired now and live abroad during the winter. So I feel that it is such a waste to have it garaged up for 6 months of the year, and then only limited use in the summer when I am back in the UK working. Viewing by appointment. It is a Cat C which means no structural damage. The damage was the near side wing and head light and that side of the bonnet. I managed to source a new wing and head light easily and quiet cheaply. However the bonnet was proving to be very expensive, but then I found a second hand XKR bonnet that was immaculate. I like the look of the XKR bonnet better anyway. So I had everything professionally repaired at a Jaguar specialist in Bridgenorth. As you will have seen the bonnet and wing line up as you would expect so no issues there. Regarding the advisories, there is a bit of a story. The garage I had always used, the owner decided to semi-retire and give up the mechanic-ing and MOTs, and just do the fuel sales. So he engaged a self-employed mechanic, who rapidly earned himself a name as a bit of **%%$@! Because he was self-employed he would go looking for things that were not really an issue and recommend a repair on it, to get more money. People would go in for a basic service and end up with all sort
