Description
I am selling my well-maintained Volkswagen Golf TSI 1.4 petrol with the sought after DSG automatic gearbox. This has been a fantastic, cheap to run and reliable runaround for the past five years, which I am reluctantly letting go to take on the car of a parent who recently passed away.
This particular model of Golf seems to deliver the best of all worlds. With a smooth gearbox and low emissions, it is very economical around town as on the motorway, where it eats up the miles comfortably and quietly.
It's big enough to feel comfortable when full of people or moving big items around, yet small enough to park easily between today's oversized cars, with added help from a rear parking sensor. While it lacks Apple Play, connecting via the Bluetooth enabled touchscreen multimedia system works well, and the dashboard buttons function far better than fiddly modern touchscreens.
It is a relaxing, reliable, easy car to drive. It has an eco mode for added MPG, as well as cruise control for the longer journeys. For the moments when you do need to pull away, shifting to sport mode makes the car feel incredibly quick and responsive.
The car has a fresh MOT, and vehicle tax is so cheap you wonder if the DVLA made a mistake! The car has a full service history, but due to the very low annual mileage, I opted to service the vehicle every other year with no issues.
The interior is in perfect condition, as new. The photos show the car on the road but it has been kept on a driveway for the past couple of years. The bumper picked up a couple of small marks while living elsewhere in Bristol that had street parking only. The new owner may choose to refurbish the alloys for a small cost, but the marks are generally to be expected for a car of this age.
Viewings and test drives welcome. I'm in no hurry to sell but I think the first person who comes to see the Golf will be happy to drive it away!
