This 1998 Shogun, is without doubt one of the best available. Body is in excellent condition, as is the chassis -untreated, with no issues. Every bushing, shock, spring has been replaced. Other replacements include: front wishbone, bumper tail lights, discs and pads all round, timing chain, sprockets, heater plugs, full service, water pump, fan belt, alternator, new battery, wipers, rear half of the exhaust, 4 new Cooper tyres, front differential, gearbox oil, and transfer box oil changed. Also rear differential is a slipper diff which uses a different oil, this was changed on service. Drop-links and anti-roll bar bushings were also replaced. Wheels have been refurbished too. Non-leaking working sunroof, working perfect. Rear partial shelf, Mitsubishi work light and full tool kit. 2 factory keys. The drivers door window regulator can be sometimes temperamental - I am used to it but someone might like to replace it. It has working cruise control and the upholstery is in excellent unmarked condition with no wear. I recently replaced the bottom rear door hinge as it was showing evidence of wear as they all do - now replaced, opening and closing like new. All paperwork, books, and manuals from new. Full service history from day one. I had one of these 2. 8s back in 2004, but sold it after three years. It was six years old when I bought it and traded in for a new 3. 2. I was disappointed one hour after buying the 3. 2, what a mistake I had made changing from the 2. 8. I searched for years until I found this one in the Isle of Man, and have looked at many over the years. Without doubt this has been the best one I have looked at. The jeep had been parked up for a couple years prior to me getting it. When I got it back to the garage I gave it a full mechanical overhaul, all paperwork to confirm all parts available. This is a fabulous jeep to drive. At any time I took it to a show it was always complimented. I would be very surprised if this jeep would disappoint. If you are looking for a proper 2. 8 with no money to be spent this is it. Every single thing works, to include the factory wing aerial and stopper switch on the dashboard to cancel the aerial from going up when the radio is on. This particular model benefits from the slip/ lock differential which is all working perfectly.
