For sale is my 2003 BMW E46, a car I originally bought as a project and have since invested significant time and money into bringing up to a standard I'd be happy to keep long-term. During my ownership, I've spent 3-4k on top of the 3,500 purchase price, addressing all of the usual weak points on these cars: *Cooling system overhaul (new water pump, expansion tank & cap, main hose, coolant level sensor, thermostat, heater control valve, and all belts and pulleys). *Suspension - shocks and springs, various suspension arms and bushes, all replaced. *Idle control valve replaced. * Brakes, discs, and tyres replaced. * Rear ABS rings replaced. * Custom-made Profusion stainless steel exhaust system. * Wheels refurbished. * Partial respray (driver's side panels, boot lid, and rear bumper). *New Sony bluetooth/usb stereo system. It now runs and drives brilliantly, looks great, and wants for very little. MOT passed with advisories taken care of. **Full disclosure**: three of the four O2 sensors have heater-circuit faults. They function correctly but throw an EML light. The car has passed two MOTs like this, runs perfectly, and the fault does not affect performance. The sensors are seized in place and are not realistically worth tackling unless the exhaust is ever removed. It's explainable to any future buyer, and a known quirk rather than a running issue. **Why 6,000?** Yes, you can find E46s cheaper, but very few will have had this level of mechanical and cosmetic refresh. If cooling, brakes, suspension, exhaust and ABS haven't been done, they soon will need to be, and that gets expensive. Mine has had the big jobs done, so it's ready to enjoy.
