Description
Please ignore categorisation, the car was scraped by a food delivery van in a narrow lane in 2011, the headlight and the rear light were cracked and they are ridiculously expensive to replace as new, with paint and the other expenses dreamt up by the insurance company they gave it a category, its really not fair or justified as this beloved Boxster S, is perfectly in line. Supplied by AFN in West London, an absolute dream of a car for the money, over 3k spent in last 2 years. Always garaged and serviced. Super low mileage for year. Loads of receipts and service history. I also am accountable for 2 of the owner changes due to separation, reluctant sale. Number plate not staying with car.
FROM GOOGLE: "Cat C" refers to an old UK insurance write-off category for vehicles where repair costs exceeded the car's market value, but the damage wasn't structural enough to warrant crushing (like Cat A/B); these vehicles could be repaired and returned to the road after passing checks, though they're now replaced by Cat S (structural) and Cat N (non-structural) categories since 2017, focusing more on safety impact.
What Cat C Meant (Pre-2017):
* Economically Beyond Repair: An insurer decided fixing the vehicle cost more than replacing it, often due to accident damage, fire, or flood.
* Repairable: Unlike Categories A (scrap) or B (parts only), Cat C cars could be repaired and put back on the road.
