Selling my BMW E39 540i Touring, in what can only be described as one of a kind specification. I'd love to hold to what is no doubt a future classic, however my other half feels a house is more important - ridiculous I know. The 4.4 litre V8 is a masterpiece and drives superbly; silky smooth and having done only 93,500 miles from new - this infamous M62 engine still has many years of enjoyment still to go. Best of all - it has a car phone (although this doesn't function due to analog networks being turned off a few years ago, perhaps someone out there can do some trickery?). Mechanically the car starts and runs perfectly, and the interior condition is fantastic. The paintwork could do with a small amount of TLC, and in places is just slightly patchy due to previous treatment to remove early signs of rust a year ago - now clear of rust and good to go, again for many years to come. The car has full service history, with services from 1998 to 2015 being completed by BMW Holland Park, who originally sold the car, and whose number plates are still in place from nearly 30 years ago. The vast majority of servicing has been done by BMW Specialists since then, such as BMR Performance, Westertech Cars and Gloucester BMW Specialists. The car even comes with a story; with ownerships links to Sir David Attenborough. This car is an absolute specimen and highly sought-after, with this one-of-a-kind specification likely to make somebody an awful lot of money at some point. The car has already had no-expense-spared with regards to how its been looked after, however with a little time and love, this could well be a future concourse vehicle.
