Description
Returning to stock is this superb, low-mileage example of one of the most characterful M cars – the E36/7 BMW Z3 M Roadster.
Finished in Estoril Blue metallic with a two-tone black and blue leather interior, and having covered just 56,811 miles from new, it presents beautifully and has evidently been cherished throughout its life.
The maintenance history is exceptional; the car boasts 15 documented services, most carried out by BMW main dealers, and over £15,000 in invoices since 2018. Amongst this is the all-important double-VANOS rebuild, handled by Walkers Autotech (BMW Specialist) just over 20,000 miles ago. The previous keeper, who owned the car for more than nine years, ensured all major work was performed at BMW Edinburgh.
That outlay also includes a recently replaced blue soft-top. Also included with the car is the original factory hard-top, matching tonneau cover and hard-top stand, items which are becoming increasingly hard to find – especially in this condition. The iconic deep dish 17-inch alloy wheels and tyres are in excellent condition, there’s no rust on the bodywork, and everything works as it should.

Powered by the legendary S50 3.2-litre straight-six from the E36 M3 Evolution, this early car develops 321bhp and revs to 7,400rpm. It’s paired with a slick 5-speed manual gearbox and delivers a truly immersive drive – compact, agile and still fast today. In period it was named ‘Top Gear’s Best Handling Car’ and as much as it sounds like a cliche, they just don't build them like this anymore. Chris Harris said as much about his own recent purchase of an Arctic Silver Z3 M Roadster. Endorsements don't come much higher.
The handling on this example is further enhanced by the fitment of KW V2 coilovers, with all the adjustment tools present.
Walkaround video available on request. Part exchange considered. AutoTrader five-star rated dealer three years running. Viewing is highly recommended at our Berwick-upon-tweed showroom.
These early S50-powered Z3Ms are getting harder to find in such good order, with mileage, provenance and originality all lining up. £18,950. Don't miss out.
