Description
I bought it from Subaru SGT in Taplow, Maidenhead in 2009. It had one previous owner. The previous owner missed out on the RB320 order deadline and wrote to Subaru UK who authorised Prodrive to apply the RB320 map to the engine. It has the rare RB320 wheels, short shift gear stick, and all the other trickery that RB320's have.
Since I had it, I had BC coilovers, dump valve and Ninja car exhaust installed at Scoobyworld. Everything else is as I bought from the Subaru dealer in 2009. The geometry of the car are the very same settings as the RB320, giving it that close precise feel on the road. The front is lifted slightly to help navigate over the scourge of our roads, the speed bump.
In 2023 it had new tyres and has only done a 1k miles on them since then.
A new cambelt and service in 2024 by FFlatfourperformance in Wrexham and it has been Sorn off ever since.
It has been garaged since I had it and only driven in the summer.
The front pumper has been removed , rubbed down and resprayed by a bodyshop to remove stone chips. The rear boot lid has had the same treatment as I noticed rust around the bolts that secure the spoiler. Removed, acid treated and resprayed. This problem is not uncommon according to the body shop. New bolts and padding were used to refit the spoiler.
There has always been a very close eye on its condition.
Recent clumsy approaches including, "is there rust?" and "what its condition like" have left me scratching my chin. The most recent being a "mistaken" purchase triggering it having to be brought out of storage (in the winter!) and have an MOT. He may have done me a favour as the drive to the MOT centre confirmed a few things to me. The car was incredible, nimble, small footprint in the corner, strong engine, just awesome. Its small size is something lost on modern sports cars. Owning it for such a long time and these attributes can be forgotten. The icing on the cake was at the MOT centre, who said, "its the best example of an original Impreza they had seen". Key words, to note, "best example" and "original". These are significant given the misplaced customisation that can go on with these icons of the road. As such I have realised that the price was too low and I have raised it to reflect the observations of mechanics and my recent driving experience. It is for sale but you will have to prize this out of my hands because I am seriously thinking of keeping it. I knew I was doomed the moment I was easing it through th
