Description
Selling my 1988 Fiat Uno Selecta.
I've owned the car for a few months. Unfortunately, it no longer has the original CVT gearbox and has been converted to a 5-speed manual. I purchased the vehicle from a customer who didn't want to deal with repairing the original gearbox or carrying out a manual conversion.
After weeks of searching, it became clear that sourcing a replacement CVT gearbox was virtually impossible, and due to the extent of the damage, repairing the original unit was not a viable option either. Given how good the body was, scrapping the car wasn't something I wanted to do, so I decided to proceed with the manual swap.
Since completing the conversion, I've covered around 3,000 miles, and the car drives great. Both the interior and exterior are in very good condition. The underside has been treated with Lanoguard for years at my workplace and is completely solid, with no rust on the underside or body. Everything functions as it should. Car comes with a stack of paperwork, Original brochure and interesting information about the first owner.
There are very few negatives to mention:
The headliner has been retrimmed at some point, it's presentable but not perfect
The exhaust has some surface rust but remains solid
A few small scratches on the body, as expected for its age
Parcel shelf is sagging slightly and the straps are missing
Radio is not working
The gauge cluster currently shows 49,000 miles, but the actual mileage is 39,242. For some reason, the "4" appeared when the odometer rolled past 39000
