Description

TVR Chimaera 450 - "X" Registered 1st September 2000. Starmist Blue with Cream and Navy leather interior. Power Steering, Electric Windows. Central Locking and factory fit Cat 1 alarm / immobiliser. Fully stamped service history in original TVR Filofax. 2 keys. Only 20,150 miles and 3 previous owners from new, which has to make it one of the lowest mileage out there. MOT expires in April. It's on a "square" set up of 16" wheels all round (due to tyre choices and brakes) which have been newly refurbished and wear new Toyo Toyo Proxes TR1 tyres - 205/50/R16 87W Front and 245/45R16 94W Rear which really suit the car and have the appropriate speed ratings for insurance purposes. These have done less than 200 miles since new. The vehicle also has had the front brakes replaced with a Wilwood kit that combines 300x32mm uprated discs on alloy bells with 4 Pot calipers. Much lighter than standard and coupled with new braided brake hoses and fresh fluid, it stops like a much more modern car with great pedal feel. (I've kept the original 280mm standard brakes in case the buyer wants to go back to original). The interior is immaculate and doesn't look 25 years old. No scuffs, rips or tears, only a small amount of fading carpet gives you any clue to it's real age. The combination of navy blue and cream is very classy and was always my favourite, complimenting the perfectly original (and uncracked) veneer dashboard. Even the Pioneer Radio Cassette / 6 CD Changer (with additional rear speakers) is original. The navy hood / roof is in great condition too. The previous owner had the vehicle for 21 years and I bought it as a Christmas present to myself in December 2023. It went in for a 12,000 mile service and comprehensive check with the legendary Jason at Str8six in January 2024 at 19,882 miles. All of the fluids, filters and plugs were changed and he was given a brief of "fix everything", fit the brakes / ACT Induction kit and braided hoses all round. Plus sort the geometry and power steering leak. I'm selling the car due to poor health (I've only done 500 miles in 2 years), because the car is my absolute favourite colour combination and was going to be a toy that I would gradually restore and keep forever. The 4.6 litre engine revs better than the bigger 5 litre and has much more power and torque than the 4 litre. As she stands the vehicle is highly original and runs beautifully. This will make someone a lovely "old school" toy for the spring / summer.
