Description

Reluctant sale of our 1977/78 VW T2 Bay Campervan, affectionately known as Juno. A US Californian import, left-hand drive, tin top, with the bulkhead still intact, adding to the van's structural integrity. This vehicle is MOT and TAX exempt. Historic vehicle checks were carried out in 2022 and 2025 to ensure compliance with MOT criteria. Some work necessary, outlined below. - Good runner. - 2. 0L petrol engine (Type 4) - more reliable and runs cooler than the earlier 1. 6L. - Litesteer power steering fitted - a game changer when parking. - 240v mains hook-up with Durite split charge relay. - Consumer unit (trip switch). - Double 3-pin socket in rear. - Leisure battery with 12v sockets in the rear. - Service history/ paperwork from 2013 onwards. - Rock & roll bed (full width), showing sun damage wear near windows. - Integrated fridge with freezer compartment. - Gas hob and sink with 12v tap. - Curtains all round. - Raised rear seat belt mounts for improved safety, supplied by VW Heritage. - Bluetooth radio, wired to leisure battery (works with ignition off). - Rear speakers. - Auto-Wares convex wing mirrors - excellent visibility. - Two full sets of keys (doors, engine lid & ignition). Areas for Improvement (reflected in price) - Surface rust in common areas (bottom of windscreen, door edges, underside - shown in photos). - Paintwork needs attention, due to a previous owner hand-painting in the US. - Rubber components showing signs of age. Accessories Included - Bus Eyes front windscreen cover. - Just Kampers cotton sun side canopy (orange). - Jail bars (not fitted). - Spare rear light lenses. - Front window vents (ideal for overnight camping security). - Kids cabin bunk bed / hammock (Just Kampers, as shown in photos). -Originally finished in brown and cream, Juno was repainted in the US by a Boston Red Sox-supporting owner before being imported to the UK. She has been in our family since 2018 and has been a brilliant, characterful bus. Sadly, we no longer have the time to give a classic vehicle the attention it deserves.
