To be absolutely honest with you, I dont want to sell my Volvo V70. I've had it since it had 50K on the clock, so for 15 years I've put on less than 100K and I absolutely LOVE this car. I can get 55MPG+ on a long run, making it still very economical but due to a change of employment, I no longer need to make any journeys in it, so it just sits on my driveway.
Like most 21 year old cars, it's seen it's fair share of action, so tyre kickers can stay away please. But every time I take the car for its MOT the engineer would always come out and remark what good "nick" the car is in. My problem is that we have a second family car and the Volvo is becoming redundant. So when everyday wear and tear occurs, it usually ends up being expensive. She passed the MOT in November 2025, so you've got 9 months left on that but I now need to replace the rear pads/disks/calipers (according to my local garage) and I simply cannot afford to spend the money. So, like an ageing dog, she needs to go to a new home (or put down/sold to WBAC). Preferably I'd like to sell it to someone who loves V70s and knows how to maintain a vehicle. I am certain she has many, many more miles left in her, going by some of the high mileage Volvos you see for sale on here. But I cannot keep the car maintained at a sensible cost and so I have taken the painful decision to put it up for sale. After all, it's just a car, right? It actually feels like I'm losing my right arm, but I'm being all dramatic and emotional.....typical, pathetic man that I am.
If you carry out a national search on Autotrader for Diesel, Manual V70s, you will not find many. I believe this is because people still want them and so they keep them going. I've got TONS of paperwork...everything kept from 15 years of garage maintenance. Cambelt was done not that long ago and I have the receipts for all work. The interior is tan leather, it's still very nice to sit in and the leather is all intact. The added benefit of heated seats for winter driving still feels like a little luxury!
Thanks for reading and hope this car is of interest.
