Description

For sale is my Chassis-Up-Rebuild Land Rover Series III 2. 25 Petrol 88-inch Station Wagon with a Fairey overdrive (completed Feb 2020) that had its latest Full Service in February 2026. George Jeffcoate who built and services my car is well-known and very-well-respected in the Midlands. What make this car well worth the money: Rebuilt Land Rover original 2, 286cc 8:1 CR 5-bearing petrol engine. Odometer is showing 89, 535 but I have driven 18, 000 miles since the full restoration i. e. the refurbished odometer was not returned to zero. Weber 34ICH suits this engine very well. Viper Dry Ignition Coil Sport VCS 3. 0 Ohms. Powerspark Electronic Ignition Kit for Lucas 45D 43D & 59D Distributor. Land Rover Defender 100 Amp alternator. High beam halogen lights. Wipac DA1192 kit (clear/ coloured lenses, LED stop/ tail, indicators, side lights). LED (extra high beam) lights behind the grill. LED rear fog light. Original LT76 gearbox was completely reconditioned, as was the transfer box, as was the Fairey Overdrive by Mr. Jeffcoate Senior. LOF ROADspec clutch. Parabolic leaf springs. Goodyear Wrangler Radial 7. 50 R16C 108/ 106N (1 spare in cabin plus another new one as extra). Richards galvanised chassis, cleaned, etched with Mordant solution, primed and given multiple coats inside and out of black Hammerite Waxoyl (used Lanoguard since). All galvanising was redone. Door bottoms are Defender ones because, together with Defender door seals, this provides a cabin that isn't overly drafty. Razor style bonnet (unused old-stock) is fixed with Series I bonnet hooks. The II/ IIA Maltese grill looks better in my opinion than the plastic grill. Alpine lights in limestone roof. T7Design 5kw Midi Heater, dual-speed heater fan (meaning a warm cabin). Dual-speed windscreen wipers (from LR expert Richard Hall). Deliberately no rear bench seats to improve her loading space. Permanent tow bar (tow weight of my dayboat + trailer was 900kgs). Roof bars (Flatdog made by Trident Van Racks). Framptons raised riveted black digits on reflective number plate. Full service February 2026 included engine oil and filter change, air filter (often oil bath) cleaning/ oil replacement, fuel sediment bowl change, fluid level top-ups (coolant, brake, clutch) if required, axles and gearbox and overdrive oil change, lubricate all grease points (incl tie rod ends), see to brakes, top up steering box an relay, check suspension, rear sliding window channels replace felt, check paint.
