Description
I took this Disco in part exchange against my Range Rover in Nov. I originally s old it to a friend for a month but he really wanted a defender so I bought it back and was keeping it over snow season but circumstances changes mean the money is better invested elsewhere.
The car is a super rare pre-facelift ES manual TD5. I can't find another for sale. It was a super high spec from new including dual sunroofs (both working), heated electric captains chair seats, dual zone climate, Harmon Kardon and much more.
I have a cardboard box full of receipts for this car, which means although there's a few gaps in history you can see the car was clearly maintained well mechanically using parts from 4x4 specialists. Between new and 2020ish the car only had 2 owners, before it was sold on to someone who conducted a much needed cosmetic restoration and transformed it into its current "overlander" build. The build included items like: 2 inch "terra firma" lift kit, metal front bumper with spot lights and winch bracket (no winch installed), snorkel, sump guard, and a couple of additional cosmetics. As I took it in PX from the guy who'd had it afterwards I'm not sure if there's anything else but I can see an "empire tuning" cable going to the ECU, and various custom coolant hoses. To top it off, this car has gone to Morocco, twice!!
Bad bits:
Like any old Land Rover there is a couple of bits that if you're being picky need attention. The main one is there's some rust to the top of thw windscreen, it's very much "surface" and the area is still solid but it wants flatting back and spraying. Inside the car is pretty decent but the steering wheel is a bit manky on top as it was originally alcantara when new. The previous owner also fitted an automatic centre console so the gear gator doesn't fit properly. I think a decent weekend and these issues are easily fixed though.
Other than that it's a very mechanically sound truck that pulls and runs very well. Swaps/PX welcome, offers considered.
