Produced in December 1966 and originally supplied by Porsche Bologna, it lived most of its life in and around Milan before being upgraded—most likely in the 1990s or early 2000s—by Robert Sikkens Racing. The motor was replaced with a magnesium-case 1969 unit, built with S pistons and cams for serious performance. It later joined the stable of British racer Mervyn Selwyn, entering the UK in 2004. Prepared over time to meet FIA regulations, it was issued with an FIA Historic Technical Passport (now expired) in August 2007 for competition in the GT Car category, FIA Class GTS16. Selwyn and the car were regulars at UK historic events, and its racing pedigree is well established.
