Description

Such a good car. I've owned this 3 times now, buying it back from the previous owners because I missed it so much. In that respect, of the owners shown on the V5 3 are me and 3 are known to me as I've bought / sold the car from or to them with the caveat 'If you decide to sell it, please give me first refusal'. A very, very rare model. As far as I'm able to tell there were only ever 5 of these in the UK when new and this is the only one taxed. I know of the owner of the other one and I know somebody who broke one for parts after an accident, so it really is a case of find another. Not a car to run on a tight budget. It's absolutely a heart over head purchase but the driving experience and sheer beauty of the styling makes it worth every penny. Truly a car I never tire of looking at. I had a TBi Sportwagon and the economy wasn't that much different, plus the peak torque was at 1500 revs, so gutless when doing any more than that. In comparison the V6 torque curve is far wider and pulls and pulls from the word go. Above 3500 revs I believe an additional bank of valves open and you can really feel the surge. Couple that with 4wd and it's a delight. 260bhp, with a Torson C 4wd system which is a development from the Lancia integrale. 57/43 bias towards the rear most of the time but it can move the split around as conditions dictate. Auto gearbox with paddle shift and sequential gear shift too. Electrically adjustable heated front seats with 3 memories on the drivers side, auto-dimming mirrors, auto lights, auto-wipers, air con, split-folding rear seat (it's surprisingly accommodating), remote boot unlock, Pioneer DAB touch screen head unit fitted with Bluetooth, USB connection, Apple and Android connectivity, reverse camera and rear parking sensors. Custom stainless steel cat-back exhaust fitted which has a lovely low down rumble at idle yet doesn't drone into the cabin at speed. The prop shaft was sent to Italy for refurbishment about 3 years ago. New air con system fitted just under a year ago, and I also had new Eibach shocks and springs fitted to match OEM spec in summer last year. A massive pile of history and receipts are included, along with the original owners manuals and 2 keys. I'm a bit of an Alfa nut - I've had 6 or 7 yet I keep returning to this one. The need for larger car (blame getting dogs) and already-in use storage space for our VW Camper is forcing my hand, somewhat regrettably.
