Description
Military LandRover 110 DEFENDER
1990, 2.5NA Diesel, 126k km/79k miles.
MOT 'til 14-10-2026. Very cheap insurance.
Winterised with interior rads, rad in battery compartment, heated screen. Dixon-Bate adjustable ball and NATO Tow bar. Power steering (genuine Land rover parts retrofitted by us 15yrs ago - parking was almost impossible!). It actually has a Webasto diesel heater to circulate hot water through rads and engine on a timer before starting on cold mornings but never bothered to get it operational as controller removed when de-mobbed from army. New (ish) canvas from 2yrs ago. New seat cushions last year.
We have owned and loved this ex-military Landy for 22years now. I registered it when it was de-mobbed so I guess it's 2 owners from new (albeit one was the army!).
My work involves an increasing amount of travelling in the US and Balkans and we realise we never get chance to use it - it just sits in the garage in Hythe, Kent. In fact, not many hundred miles use over the last few years - it would be better to pass on to someone who will use and enjoy it. It has been stationary in the garage for so long I've just had to buy a new battery.
It has 10months' MOT with a couple of advisories (it is 35years old, after all) and would benefit from a bit of tidying here and there. Nobody has driven it since then - infact I just had to buy a new battery this weekend. Runs fine now.
The Landy is in Hythe, Kent and I'm, of course, happy to show it off but will need a few days' notice as I am often in London mid-week and travel overseas quite frequently. It has been garaged for the last 8years.
We have used it over the years to collect logs, move stuff around, ferry our Son's band equipment and Daughter's friends around happily for many years. Brilliant fun in the summer with the roof off.
It's not a sportscar but full of fun and character. Been registered as member's vehicle with Military Vehicle Trust for 20years.
Ask any questions and I'll try and answer ASAP
