Description
This extremely rare Porsche 959 Evocation commands attention everywhere. Featuring a stunning 959 body draped over an original 1966 MOT exempt Porsche 911 shell. A bare metal rebuild with a hand-layered Kevlar body and full respray finished in Porsche's Guards Red.
Almost every component on this car has been upgraded following a ground-up rebuild, from the suspension and steering to the brakes and wiring. The three-litre engine's component parts and cables all gleam, while the original Porsche wheels are in superb condition. The interior blends period-correct detail, including five traditional dials and lighting pull-switches, with modern additions like Sparco racing seats and upgraded audio system.
Combining the 959's iconic looks and soundtrack with the driving experience of an early 911, allied to the reassurance of a rebuilt engine and gearbox, this remarkable car represents a truly unique ownership proposition.
Recent recommissioning includes brand new grooved front brake discs with EBC red road compound brake pads, new rear brake discs and pads, brake flush and all new DOT 4 brake fluid, a brand new 62 litre fuel tank from Heritage Parts Centre, carburettor rebuild, disassembly and inspection, chemical cleaning and ultrasound, replace gaskets, seals and jets as required, adjust float level, reassemble and bench test, as well as 4 new Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (Porsche) tyres on, 225/45 R17 fronts and 255/40 R17 rears.
This restored vehicle is notable for more than featuring a 959 bodyshell over a bare-metal 911 monocoque. It has seen minimal use in the decades following its ground-up rebuild, when virtually every component was refurbished or replaced, right down to the windows and rubbers.
Inside, period 911 features include race seats, reupholstered rear bucket seats with lap belts, and the classic five-dial instrumentation with a central rev counter set behind a four-spoke Lecarra steering wheel.
Lifting the engine cover on this 959-styled Porsche reveals a 3.0-litre engine of a type first introduced to the 911 a decade after this model left the factory. Built and installed in the late 1980s, this motor sits within an immaculate engine bay. Used sparingly during current ownership, it's time for a new custodian to enjoy this unique classic Porsche.
