I have LOVED this car and have taken care of it - always garaged and was serviced before the winter. All Mk1 Golf Cabriolets from 1988 onwards were fitted with a 'Clipper' bodykit, comprising body-coloured bumpers, flared wheel arches and side skirts. Using the same 1,781cc engine as the GTi, although fitted with a single carburettor, the 90bhp Clipper was super stylish. The car was first purchased in 1989 from Scotts of Sloane Square, a VW dealership famous for providing many a 'Sloane Ranger' with a new Golf It has covered just 36k miles and I have owned the car since 2022 spending some time in Jersey (J151080). Attractively presented in Helios Blue over a grey carpeted interior with grey-toned tartan upholstery seats wrapping around to the door cards It still wears the original dealer plates and tax disc holder and is supplied with its original dealer book packs, stamped service book, previous MOTs and invoices, tonneau cover and two keys. Has been garaged all winter. This Mk1 Volkswagen Golf is a smart open-top city car, with the 'Clipper' bodykit presenting in generally excellent condition and would now make a fun addition to any household, just in time for Spring/Summer '27! I'm moving abroad - if the car doesn't sell then I'll probably take it with me!
