This vehicle has been his pride and joy for the last three years, until a couple of weeks ago when he got in it to find an airbag and tpms light on the dash, the stereo/mmi had stopped working and the passenger footwell carpet was wet. He did at first think that a window had been left open but it now appears that the vehicle has a water ingress issue. The vehicle starts/drives/stops absolutely perfectly and the only known issues are the ones above, and right now is not affecting the car or how it drives in any other way. It was taken to a well known German specialist and the decision has been made to be completely transparent and sell the car as is, this is a great opportunity for the right person. The passenger carpet has been raised slightly and some interior trims have been removed to aid drying and allow for an inspection. The master technician's report confirms the following: Imaging Processing Control Unit (PR:QR9): Suffered obvious water damage and requires replacement (733). Central Computer / Information Electronics (QU1, QV3): Short circuited and requires replacement (4,833). Stored Faults: 13 Distance range controller (not operating), 19 Gateway (no communication), and 5F Information electronics (cannot be reached). We have looked into the option of having the original modules repaired or cloned by a specialist firm. While this is a viable and significantly more cost-effective route, like I said, we have decided to sell the car as it sits rather than undertake further work ourselves. The garage has tested the front sunroof drain tubes and found them to be draining correctly. They recommend further investigation of the rear drain tubes to fully confirm the source of the leak. Copies of the technician's notes and the diagnostic report will be provided to the new owner.
