Description
Offered for sale is a very rare 1971 Mercedes-Benz 250 CE W114 Coupe, presented in genuine concourse condition following a comprehensive, no-expense-spared restoration. This car was stripped back to bare metal and professionally repainted, with every stage of the rebuild carried out carefully and correctly.
The engine has been fully rebuilt by a professional classic car specialist using new parts throughout, and the gearbox has also been completely rebuilt by a separate Mercedes-Benz gearbox specialist. All serviceable and removable components were replaced as part of what can only be described as a bolt-to-nut rebuild. The suspension system is entirely new, including shock absorbers, coil springs and ball joints, ensuring the car drives as beautifully as it presents. A brand new battery has been fitted, all filters have been replaced, and the wheels have been fully refurbished with brand new tyres fitted all round, including the spare.
Inside, the car retains its timeless elegance while presenting in superb condition. The interior has been fully refurbished, with brand new carpets custom-made to match the original specification. The timber trim was carefully cleaned, treated and waxed prior to reinstallation, and all chrome elements have been professionally polished. Everything functions exactly as it should. Even the original set of sticker has been applied in the engine bay.
Registered as a historic vehicle, the car is both MOT and road tax exempt. These W114 Coupes are becoming increasingly desirable and difficult to find in this condition, particularly examples restored to this standard.
This was a personal passion project, built for myself with no intention of selling. A great deal of time, care and money has gone into creating what is now a truly exceptional example. The sale is purely due to an upcoming house move and the need to release funds, making this a very reluctant parting.
A rare opportunity to acquire a beautifully restored and investment-grade classic Mercedes. Serious enquiries only.
