Description

Please read this description before abusing me about the price. My 2014 Boxster is unremarkable in all aspects bar one - the paint. A Paint to Sample colour, Olympic Blue (OlympBlau on the current PTS website), it's very rare in modern Porsches although starting to catch on now that it's freely available as a PTS colour. This was not always the case...and so it was something of a coup in 2014 when Porsche Glasgow (who had form) managed to persuade Porsche to paint a humble Boxster with this heritage colour best known from the 914 of the 1970s. I'm pretty sure that this is the only 981 anywhere in this colour and certainly in a UK RHD configuration. The car gets comments wherever it goes, with people waving, calling out and coming to chat, usually to ask 'what is that colour?!'. If you hate the idea of that, stop reading here. And yes, it's a 2.7l car with a PDK, so if manual is your thing it's not for you (although it is a flat six, and increasingly a modern classic). But that means that it's both easy to drive and can be pushed quite hard to get the most from the sonorous exhaust without giving up your licence. All the emotion without the penalties - if you know when to lift off. In terms of features it has a decent set of options: Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) Heated seats 20-inch Carrera S wheels Roll-over bar with exterior colour paint finish (important) Wind deflector Top tinted windscreen Smoking package Bi-Xenon headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) Mobile phone preparation ParkAssist (front and rear) Code for exterior colour to sample Floor mats Multifunction steering wheel, leather Black model designation on doors Audio package CDR Plus (I have a Sony head unit fitted for full screen CarPlay, original unit included) Wheels painted in Black Sports tailpipe And it's been PPF front protected by Jules Sturgess. As you can see from the photos (I'll put in a fuller set as and when the weather clears up) it looks a million dollars. Speaking of which, let's deal with the elephant in the room. That price... Yes, I know there's no way you'd pay that much for a 2014 Boxster. Look at all the other cars that are available. And I heartily concur. Go and get another car, and enjoy. To be honest, I don't really want to sell this one, indeed I did swear not to do so for at least another 10 years. But someone out there might want a Tiffany Blue car badly enough, & it isn't getting much use. No dealer calls please. Life's too short.
