Description

This cherished Outback, which I have owned from new, was especially ordered for me by Subaru UK, with Ivory Leather - since I did not want the standard black interior. It is one of the best cars I have ever owned. I am a classic car restorer by profession and this car has been very carefully looked after, as you can probably tell from the photographs. Affectionally known as 'Yoshi', he has had maintenance above and beyond the standard schedule. In recent times his Subaru 'Lifetime' coolant was replaced and a year ago, the Lineartronic Transmission fluid was also renewed. He has been rustproofed underneath at my business premises twice, most recently using Bilt Hamber Dynax UC. He has also just benefitted from new front brake discs and pads - even though the outgoing pads were not even half worn. The tyres are recent Bridgestone Touranza all-weather type and are about a year or perhaps eighteen months old. He has a detachable tow bar and electrics but has only towed an occasional Citroen 2CV on a light trailer - nothing else. He is almost exclusively used on longer runs as I have Subaru Justy for local trips. In his 10 years of life I have not had to replace so much as a single blown bulb; only the battery - Yuasa, of course! We have just lightly cleaned and re-fed the leather seats; something I've done quite regularly. There is a *small* amount of peeling of the coating on the steering wheel. You'll see if you look very closely in the pictures. Other than that minor detail, he is in very, very good condition indeed - and I think it unlikely you will find another example so close to immaculate, so cherished and - especially with the interior - so highly appealing! The reason for sale is that I have decided to buy the very last of the petrol Outbacks while I still can, before they go to electric and an altogether much less opulent and appealing looking package. Please note, the current private plate is not included with the sale.
