The C126 was way ahead of its time in the 1980s and in our opinion the zenith of German automotive engineering with an aluminium weight-saving bonnet, roof panel and boot lid, an all aluminium Nikasil V8 engine, with Bosch K Jetronic fuel injection, producing a naturally aspirated 300 bhp, ABS, ASR, hydro-pneumatic rear suspension plus much more.
This example is presented in metallic Almandine Red over a beautiful mushroom/ beige interior.
This C126 drives like new, she is supple and sharp with ample power from her potent M117 all alloy Nikasil V8. Utterly reliable.

Some of the more complex work has been undertaken by the world-renowned John Haynes Mercedes, including the dashboard replacement and windscreen replacement. There is also a John Haynes condition report before and after the engine & gearbox rebuild.

Engine and gearbox fully rebuilt in 2019 by the present owner, including new timing chain, sprockets and ALL timing chain & oil pump chain guides, (not just the top ones) new torque converter, new oil pump & chain, new radial hydraulic pump, new water pump, new radiator and all new rubber parts to the engine. MB original parts used wherever possible.
Cylinder heads refurbished with new valve guides, valve stem oil seals and the valves re-seated. All new valvetrain including shafts, bearings, oil-feed fittings, cam-followers and rocker arms, plus two MB original camshafts.
