Description

2007 Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk5 in black with iconic Interlagos tartan interior. I am (reluctantly!) selling due to an expanding family and running costs, making it one of the few sub-100k manual examples left at this price point. Widely regarded as the best GTI ever made, this is a chance to own the legendary MK5 'hot hatch' on the 50th anniversary of the original GTI's first production, making this a modern classic! I've owned and loved this car for 10 years. It's a practical, fun to drive, and reliable car that's looking for someone to take it into its next 100k miles. Summary: Full Service History: A well-documented life with stamps throughout. Condition: Just had a mini-valet. The interior is in great shape for its age, with minimal wear on the interior and exterior. There is a bit of sag on the headlinging and a scratch on the bonnet, which is pictured. Drive: The 6-speed manual gearbox is tight and the BWA engine pulls exactly as it should. No knocks or bangs. Tech: I installed a Pioneer stereo with DAB Radio and Apple CarPlay. I still have the original stereo if you wish to reinstall it. Practicality: The 5-door layout makes it a perfect daily driver that doesn't sacrifice performance. Things to note: The car is recorded as Category N (Non-structural). This was due to minor damage to the wheel arch which was deemed uneconomical to repair by the insurer due to the car's age. It was professionally repaired and has been driven daily since with zero issues. I've included photos of the previous damage for peace of mind. Timing Belt: The belt was last changed at 26k miles. While it's running perfectly, it is likely due for a change soon. I have priced the car lower than market average to account for this and the Cat N status. Exhaust Light: Occasionally, an intermittent sensor light appears on the dash. My local specialist has investigated this multiple times and confirmed it is a minor computer/sensor glitch rather than a mechanical issue (likely an over-sensitive O2 sensor). It has been present intermittently for 3 years without ever affecting the car's performance, fuel economy, or MOT passes. I want to be 100% transparent so there are no surprises. Paperwork & Extras: Full V5C. Full service history Original owners' manuals and service book. 2 Keys. Viewing highly recommended in Herne Hill. Please: No low-ball offers over the phone. Come see the car first!
