Description

For Sale: 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Tekna (The One With The Dancing Dials) Look, let's get the "ghost in the machine" out of the way first. This truck has a personality. Specifically, the instrument cluster occasionally likes to have a little ravethe dials do a bit of a dance while you're driving. I've spent a small fortune and far too many hours of my life trying to fix it. Nissan was useless, auto-electricians were baffled, and I've personally gone down a rabbit hole of CAN testing and module cloning that I'll never get back. The Verdict: The cluster has an intermittent fault (confirmed by ECU testing). You just need to find a matching part number for 100-150, clone it, and you're golden. Or, do what we've done for the last 18 months: ignore the disco on the dash and just enjoy the drive. It's never missed a beat. The "Actually Great" Stuff The fact that I've kept throwing money at this truck for the last four years should tell you how much we trust it. It's a solid, tidy, honest workhorse that still looks the business. The Look: Recently powder-coated Matte Black alloys and a Mango Racing grille (I'll give you the boring original one too, if you want it). The Rubber: Brand new set of General Grabbers. If the world ends tomorrow, you'll be the one still moving. The Sound: I fitted a DAB radio because life is too short for static. It makes a massive difference. The Plumbing: New exhaust from the flexi-back. The Luxury: It's a Tekna, so you get the full leather, the sunroof, the heated seats, and the "I'm higher up than you" driving position. Summary This is a 2014 Euro 5 Auto 4WD that drives perfectly, pulls like a train, and looks mean in white and black. No hidden gremlins, no "forgetting to mention the gearbox crunch"just a very straight car with a dashboard that likes to party. If you have the patience to refresh eBay for a cluster, you've got a steal. If not, you've still got a brilliant, reliable truck that just happens to be a bit expressive. It had only 1 owner before us.. it's changed hands between me and my wife a couple of times. Now we both have new cars and no need or space for this.
