Description

I've owned this increasingly rare, original UK spec, lovely low mileage example for 6 years and have loved driving it. It's a proper sports car and drives really well. The engine starts first time and sounds terrific! Very low to the road and feels very sporty to drive. I have a lot of paperwork from the original owners which included cross-overs and a bespoke stainless steel exhaust system. Since I have owned it, I have looked after it with regular servicing and the following major works: - New catalytic convertor (2025) -New battery (2025) - Sill welded (2024) - New brake caliper (2024) - New distributer arm, cap, HT leads and spark plugs (2024) - Replaced side indicator repeaters and front running light/indicator with new clear lens versions. - I've always run high octane fuel through it. - The tyres are very good with plenty of tread and the rims are in excellent condition with only a couple of scuffs. The electric windows and central locking all work as they should and the pop-up sunroof works without any leaks. The pop-up headlights also work as they should. There is an after market audio head fitted (came with the car when I bought it). Interior is in excellent original condition and carpets and mats are all very good too. Also has an as-new spare wheel and original tool kit. The car is currently SORN as I can't get the MOT because the speedometer has stopped working. I have asked on the MR2 forums about fixing this and, I'm told, it should be pretty straightforward. However, it's beyond my technical abilities and my garage is too busy to tackle it. So, it is sold 'as is' with no MOT. It's currently off-road at the garage which has serviced the car since I bought it so you can talk to them at an arranged viewing if you have any questions. The new battery has also lost its charge (you can see in the video we had to jump-start it). Not sure if it's just because the car has not been run for a while or if there's a drain somewhere. However, the engine fires-up as soon as the key is turned and sounds terrific! There are a couple of rust spots and some rust along the sills (I have had one sill repaired/welded a few years ago). I've tried to show these details in the photos. The car is kept at my local garage who have maintained the car since I have owned it. Viewing by arrangement only.
