Reconditioned Power Transfer Unit with stronger bearings fitted in March 2026 as was noted as making a whining noise on the service. The PTU has warranty and was fitted by a former Jaguar / LR mechanic. The PTU is a common and costly issue on a Freelander 2 and it's already been done.
