Description

An early E-type with many original features plus desirable upgrades which make this a very driveable car. A second year of production Series 1 Jaguar E-type, finished in a rare and original factory colour combination of Jaguar Black over Black trim, as confirmed by the accompanying Jaguar Heritage certificate. Built-in November 1962, the E-type was delivered through Jaguar Cars, New York less than a month later, to a Mr Bondner of Berkeley California, USA, officially registering it's first owner. Imported by Chapel End Cars of Nuneaton in 2012, 719 UYW was purchased by Mr Byrnes of the now defunct Byrnes Motor Trust Inc (BMT), as a restoration project, sold as 'spare parts only'. Byrnes' classic car restoration outfit started the restoration on the desirable Series 1 in late 2012, where 719 UYW was given the full works, taken back to bare metal to ensure the base of the build was strong, safe and will stand the test of time. The restoration process was fully documented. Considering the starting condition of 719 UYW, evidenced from the available photographic file, the car required all-new engine frames, bonnet, outer sills, various exterior skins and general fabrication across the floor plans and boot. Since restoration, it is understood 719 UYW made up one of the desirable examples of a significant UK collection. The current owner took delivery of the car in 2019, following a thorough independent third-party inspection, which reported the car to be presented as a beautifully cared for and restored 60's Coupe. The current owner has spent around 50k on documented work over the years including: 5 speed gearbox LHD to RHD conversion Uprated 4 pot front brakes Classicfab manifolds and exhaust system Electronic ignition system Alternator upgrade High torque starter Uprated cooling fan Inertia seat belts Period-styled radio with Bluetooth connectivity 719 UYW has been garaged, serviced and maintained by Twyford Moors, and only driven in dry conditions, as you will see from the condition of the car. Viewing is strongly recommended.
