Silver Porsche Boxster 986, Year 2000, 2.7ltr 5 speed manual. Taken on as restore project last year and looked after by the wonderful team at County Classic Racing, Kent, the following work has been done:
Full service, plugs, coil packs, filters, oil etc.
4 new tyres, nothing special but good middle of the road tyres.
New Battery.
New wheel bolts.
Replaced ignition switch.
Fitted intermittent wiper replay (timed from stalk).
Replaced the torn plastic screen roof with a replacement Porsche 986 blue roof, glass rear heated screen.
Two replacement air condensers and aircon regas.
Replacement air oil separator.
Two replacement seats.
Replaced drivers arm rest storage unit.
Replacement starter motor and alternator.
Replaced windscreen.
Two replacement electric window mechanisms.
Headlights, Side lights and fog light bulbs replaced with high quality LED bulbs.
It needs some work done on the suspension, very creaky but if you're looking at this you probably know that the bushings tend to wear and creek.
When I got the car it had some sill damage from being caught on a low bollard, again for the right person this is an easy fix, the drivers door was also damage which I swapped out. The car was also wet inside due to the torn roof, no obvious damage to the control unit under the passenger seat but we believe the unit is damaged as no remote key operation, or engine temp gauge/outside temp reading is way out of(sensor has been replaced), this all passes through that unit. We know the engine temp works correctly when plugged into a diagnostic pc and the fans all kick in as they should. If left for a few weeks the battery also drains, again we believe this is linked to that unit. The back light for the mileage also needs fixing. Lots of previous service paperwork.
Herbie, as he's know bought a summer full of smiles last year but unfortunately he doesn't agree with my past back surgery. Brilliant fun to drive and a fun project for the next owner to keep this lovely car on the road :)
Available to view in Tunbridge Wells, currently SORN.
