We are excited to offer this rare piece of Renaultsport history, the Megane 225 F1 Team, finished in Ultra Blue with matching interior – Recaro seats upholstered in Black Leather and Blue Alcantara. The 225 F1 was built to celebrate Renault winning the 2005 F1 Constructors Championship with the Renault R25 Formula One car in the hands of Fernando Alonso, finally de-throning the Ferraris after years of dominance. A limited-production car, there were 1500 made with ours being number 1370. Circa 140 of these cars were registered in the UK with fewer than 30 currently taxed on the road. The things that make the 225 F1 Team stand out from the standard Megane 225 include a Cup Chassic as standard, with stiffer springs. Improved braking performance thanks to Brembo, and cosmetic changes such as the unique Recaro interior, gloss black wheels (an unusual feature 20 years ago) and most importantly, plenty of very cool stickers. This particular car drives absolutely beautifully, with no unwanted knocks or rattles, the engine and box are smooth and strong, with brilliant straight steering geometry. The car had a new cam belt and water pump in 2024, and the recently refurbished wheels are fitted with brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, too. All in all it’s a brilliant example of what is actually quite an important part of Renaultsport’s history when you think about it. It’s had 4 very loving previous owners, all of whom have contributed to the absolutely absurd amount of receipts and invoices that accompany the car – three folders of paperwork to be precise.
